Sète SNCF station?

Located in the heart of the town, Sète SNCF station is one of the Hérault region’s railway crossroads, at the junction of the lines linking Montpellier, Béziers and Narbonne with Toulouse, Perpignan, Nîmes and Avignon. Located close to the city centre, it offers quick access to the Canal Royal and the city’s other transport services (bus, boat-bus, river shuttle).

Initially set up in the south of the town, near the present-day Orsetti ferry terminal, when the line between Montpellier and Cette (as the town was spelt at the time) was opened, it took up its definitive position in the north of the town in 1857 under the name of Gare de Cette-Midi1, where it is still located today.

Today, it handles more than 1.4 million passengers a year, with all types of trains – TGV, TER, Intercités– underlining its importance throughout the year as well as in the summer months.

Situated between the Quai Maréchal Joffre and the Route de Cayenne, it is at the heart of local and departmental road transport, with an bus station2, the nearby greenway to the Etang de Thau and the seasonal maritime shuttle to 3.
